Podium examines the outstanding performance of an SEO, content and social marketing campaign after the first 12 months.
Achieving outstanding page-one-on-Google search results isn’t easy, particularly because of the ever-changing algorithms that Google implements to ensure the cream always rises to the top.
Essentially, ‘organic’ search is exactly that: organic. The days of artificially setting up a website to ‘cheat’ Google have gone: it is a meritocracy and only the best, most frequently-updated websites will prosper.
We have written on here before about how long it takes to achieve results with an SEO and content marketing campaign with the lates SEO considerations in mind.
The short answer is that there’s no fixed time period, but that we recommend at least six to 12 months’ worth of activity before a campaign really starts to see page-one results.
It takes time to make sure your website is set up and doing things correctly in the first place, and then it takes a little more time to deliver consistent organic search results.
BIM Creative has just reached the 12-month mark on an SEO, social media, blog and e-mail newsletter campaign for a Cumbria-based installer of renewable energy products.
When we started working with our client, their ranking was nowhere. Against a number of key search terms, the firm ranked outside the top-200 for most organic search terms.
It doesn’t matter that the firm has over 100 years’ experience in the construction industry, nor that it has a great reputation across the North of England and the borders region. Its website simply wasn’t punching at the correct weight.
After 12 months of working with Podium, we are pleased to report a huge improvement in search term results.
Our client now ranks on page one of Google for 40 key search terms, most of which are in the top three.
What has been most interesting is that, while we were able to give an instant improvement, it wasn’t until the campaign reached the six-month mark that the number of page-one results really took off.
It has taken a combination of our technical SEO know-how, consistent and well-written blog content, frequent social media activity and directly targeted email newsletters to reach this stage. From nowhere on Google, to page one in 12 months.
As we posted recently, marketing requires momentum to be successful, and with time, we can achieve similar results for your business.
