Don’t you just love it when you come across an app, program, website, or chrome add-on which just completely revolutionises your job? Here’s a small selection of them that we love at Podium:
We can’t emphasise enough how amazing this website is – if you’re in the world of content marketing, then chances are, you already use this beauty. If not, then what the hell have you been doing for the last few years? Think of Photoshop for people who aren’t in a position to learn how to use it (or pay for it…). A lot of ‘entry level’ briefs sent to graphic designers could probably be completed in Canva, and for the basics, it competes brilliantly with Photoshop.
Podium top tip: instead of using unengaging stock photography in your blog content, why not create an eye-catching thumbnail of your title in Canva and see if you get more engagement?
Piktochart is very similar to Canva, but we think this just edges it for larger-scale graphics. It has a great range of icons and symbols, as well as the ability to create your own graphs, to really spice up your graphics.
Data-visualisation and infographics are a vital aspect of web content today. The average web-user would much rather consume content via an easy-to-digest graph or image than a wordy blog post. Infographics are straight to the point, and more importantly for content marketers, much more likely to be shared on social media by your audience.
Sometimes, creating your own graphic is made more difficult when you can’t get the colours to match, or when you’re dropping your non-transparent-background version of a logo over your current graphic and the colours aren’t exactly the same, leaving an awkward box around the logo. Eye Dropper solves that problem – simply hover your mouse over the colour you want to use, and it’ll give you the colour code which you can copy and paste into the colour palette and voila! The colours match perfectly. It even saves your past colours so you can access them quickly.
We urge everyone to have a quick look at Canva – If you haven’t yet tried it, you’re genuinely missing out. It’s easy to pick up, and you’ll be surprised at how easily you’ll be making creative and professional graphics in no time at all.
Get busy creating!
