Friendly reminder: Retarget your ads

Friendly reminder: Retarget your ads

Have you ever looked at a product and thought, ‘I’ll come back later’, and then suddenly it pops up everywhere? No, your phone isn’t reading your mind (we think 😉) it’s retargeting ads!

Retargeting is one of the smartest ways brands can reconnect with people who have already shown interest in their products or services. Instead of running after new customers who may not know you yet, retargeting helps you remind the people who already stopped by and say, ‘hiya, remember us?’

What are retargeting ads?

Retargeting ads are paid Facebook and Instagram ads shown to people who have already interacted with your brand. This could include someone who visited your website, viewed a product, added something to their basket, watched your videos, engaged with your Instagram page, or started a purchase but didn’t finish.

Why did they leave?

Don’t worry, it happens all the time! A customer might leave your website because:

·       They got distracted

·       They wanted to compare prices

·       They werent ready to make a decision yet

·       They needed to wait until payday

Most people don’t buy the first time they discover a brand. Retargeting gives your business another chance to be there when they’re ready.

Make a comeback

1. Stay in their head

The internet is a busy place. Customers see hundreds (sometimes thousands!) of messages every day. Retargeting helps your business stay memorable without being pushy.

A simple reminder like ‘Still thinking about us?’ or ‘your favourites are waiting!’ can bring a customer back at just the right moment.

2. Reach your fans

One of the biggest benefits of retargeting is that you’re speaking to people who already know your brand.

They aren’t strangers, they’ve already clicked, browsed, or explored. That means they’re often much closer to becoming customers than someone seeing your business for the first time.

3. Personalise their content

Good retargeting doesn’t feel like a random ad. It feels helpful.

For example:

·       A customer viewed a t-shirt so show them that t-shirt again

·       Someone checked your menu so remind them about your yummy gyros

·       Someone visited your booking page so encourage them to schedule

It’s all about showing the right message to the right person.

When done correctly, retargeting is simply a helpful nudge. It gives customers another opportunity to connect with your business when the timing feels right.

Ready to turn ‘mebs later’ into ‘yes plz’?

Every business has customers who showed interest but didn’t take the next step. Retargeting ads help you reconnect with those missed opportunities and bring potential customers back into the room.

With the right strategy, your ‘almost customers’ can become your regulars.

At Podium, we help businesses create smart, creative campaigns that attract attention, build relationships, and turn clicks into customers, sometimes all it takes is a little reminder.
